By the age of 21 this dance music purist had spent more than half a decade developing his mixing & production techniques digitally, & had successfully founded the popular dance music community 'Phat City' for the state of Queensland in Australia. After mastering the manipulation of vinyl, CD, & DAW, it wasn’t long before the attention emerged from event organizers, & the demand began to rise for public performances.
Today his labour of love puts the toughest sound systems across Brisbane to the test, including main stage @ Arena, Step Inn, Mass Nightclub, Planet Nightclub, The Australian National, Mustang Bar, Rockafellas Nightclub, Madison Nightclub, & the list grows. Lately it’s not unusual to find Hejira frequently featured on local event line ups due to a demand from organisers such as PHD, Konflikt DJz, Renewable NRG, System 6, Ritual, Fuze, Traffic, Kranky Digital, Intencity, Pulse, Toy Box, Mayhem, Mystique & Transmission production crew events.
The Step Inn & Kranky Digital resident DJ has become a valuable asset to the Brisbane clubbing scene as he continues to release popular online mixes, & by having been chosen to support international acts & national icons such as Jaytech, Noise Controllers, Kamui, David Forbes & Maloorca Lee (Public Domain), The Pitcher, Jon The Baptist, Pila, Mike Nicol, Yilmaz Altanhan, Hellraiser, Tydi, Bexta, Weaver, & Suae to name just a few. Hejira was also picked to represent Australia on the global stage Afterhours.FM in 2007.
Armed with extensive versatility, character, & an energetic stage presence, the relentless energy he brings to a venue is only matched by the most renowned industrial & hardcore performers, providing a powerful & accessible sound that can fill a dance floor quickly.
